Event recap: Future digital collaboration: mobilising for better outcomes
In a panel hosted by 国产探花 and in partnership with NXT DEV, industry leaders explored the future of digital collaboration in the built environment, with a focus on the BHoM framework.

What did we learn?
1. A novel approach for interoperability
The BHoM framework was presented as a solution to the industry’s fragmented digital landscape. By enabling a shared language across disciplines, it supports scalable collaboration and data exchange.
2. Openness and composability over complexity
Panellists advocated for open APIs and composable systems that allow flexibility and integration. This means moving away from rigid standards like IFC and toward frameworks that support real-world workflows.
3. Seamless adoption and inclusive collaboration
Successful digital transformation depends on tools that integrate smoothly into existing workflows. The discussion also highlighted the need to involve fabricators and contractors early to reduce fragmentation and improve outcomes.
